The video shows a horse being ridden in the snaffle and topics include: Mounting, Lateral Flexion and Transitions. Course Content Ridden Work (VIDEO) I very much encourage riders to wear riding boots that are designed for riding and to wear riding helmets. When mounting please make sure that your reins are not to long and that you only put your toe in the stirrup. I speak about this in the video An exercise to help pick up your stirrup when mounting. Without looking take your foot out of your stirrup and then see if you can pick it up again without looking. Practice your lateral flexion, using the exercise that I speak of in the video. Pulling your rein through your hand with your outside hand. Then trading hands and reaching down to rub your horse. See if you can move the hindquarters just by using your rein. See if you can move the hindquarters using both your rein and your leg. Now try just using your leg to move the hindquarters. See if you ride a circle drifting the hindquarters to the outside of the circle. Play with bringing the forequarters through after you have the hindquarter yield. See if you can ride your horse forward and then stop and back. Play with your transitions, see how slow you can walk, now move your horse out at the walk. Then bring them back to a slow walk and then down to a back up. See how smooth you can make the upward and downward transitions. 1 of 2
