Where has the month of October gone. It does not seem that long ago that I was posting Septembers blog and here we are at the end of October. What has happened, well quite a lot.
I arrived back into Sydney – Australia late last night, having had stop overs in Spain & Dubai. With a shortened overseas schedule it is the first time that I have been back in Australia at this time of the year for many years. The irony is that as I have escaped the rain falling in the U.K. it is much needed within rural areas of Australia.
After last years very wet U.K. summer, fitting summer, sun and the U.K. into the same sentence did not seem possible. This year it has happened, thankfully. My U.K. visit for this year is now drawing to a close and has seen successful horse intakes and courses.
Unbelievable, the sun has come out to play in England, what a difference to last years summer. I am now halfway through my U.K. time and now starting my second week of the second intake of young horses with all having had 6- 7 rides. Prior to this intake of horses I was travelling the country from Lancashire to Liverpool finishing in Shropshire with a 3 day horsemanship course at Chris & Trevor Kynaston facility in Whitchurch.
The natural equipment product range offered is of the highest professional quality, products are durable and stand the test of time. All the natural equipment featured is used daily by ourselves on all of our horses. A good selection of educational DVDs are also available.
Ray Hunt and Tom Dorrance are widely considered the greatest and most influential horsemen of all time. They approached the horse as an equal and forever changed the horse world.
But with the loss of Tom in 2003 and Ray in 2009, many worried their legacy of compassionate horsemanship and the exchange of knowledge they encouraged might be lost.
A Legacy of legends was born out of that concern. Formed by Buck Brannaman and Carolyn Hunt, it holds an annual Gathering to honor the teachings of Ray and Tom. This Gathering in turn helps support A Legacy of Legends Scholarship Program, which pairs students with horsemen who actually studied with the two legends.
